Usher Ministry

“Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.” 1 Peter 4:9

The Usher Ministry serves as one of the first points of contact for those who enter Ebenezer Oromo Evangelical Church. With a spirit of hospitality, order, and service, ushers help create a welcoming, safe, and worship-ready environment for all who attend services, conferences, and special events.

Ushers assist by warmly greeting worshipers, directing and seating guests, collecting tithes and offerings, and serving during Holy Communion. They also help ensure order during services, support visitors and newcomers, respond to special needs or emergencies, and work closely with pastors, evangelists, and prayer teams to provide care and guidance. Through attentiveness and compassion, ushers help services flow smoothly and without distraction.

Members of the Usher Ministry serve faithfully at least once per month and are expected to arrive early, attend team meetings, and serve with integrity and accountability. Ushers are representatives of the church family and are encouraged to dress neatly, wear identification, and serve with humility and love. As Scripture reminds us, “Everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way” (1 Corinthians 14:40). Through their service, ushers reflect the love of Christ and help strengthen the fellowship of the church.
